Day 2
EXPLORE AMABERE GA NYINAMWIRU CAVES & KARAMBI TOMBS
Have morning breakfast and drive south west of Fort portal town on Bundibujyo road to explore the stunning stalactites and stalagmites with the milky substances usually referred to as the “Amabeere caves”. This is a nice excursion walk through the mythological caves. Your guide will take you down a thick jungle path – boots are a good idea since the path can be quite slippery and wet. This short and interesting walk in the jungle leads you to a place where you are greeted by a lovely waterfall that tumbles down from the cliff above the caves. While there, listen to the interesting ancient folklores from your guide, here you may choose to stand behind the waterfall which is a worthy experience and a great moment for memorable pictures or swim in the waters though it’s icy cold and may end up surrounded by colobus monkeys.
From there proceed to the Karambi royal tombs, here you can find tombs to the past kings like David kyebambe commonly known as Kasagama and the George Kamurasi Rukidi ll. The royal tombs also harbor the royal tools like the respective royal regalia, drums, spears and other personal tools that were associated by each one of the respective kings during their rule. Return to fort portal town for late lunch and drive to your hotel. Have the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at
