Day 1:

TRAVEL TO FORT PORTAL

You will be picked up from your residence/ Hotel by the company driver and be driven to Fort Portal, via Mubende to visit the famous Nakayima tree a traditional tree that gets its name after a series of traditional practices like witchcraft besides naming it after the person who planted it, Nakayima (Ndahura’s wife). The tree has been in existence foe over 400 years. Have lunch and then procced to Fort Portal town.  Arrive Check in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at

Day 2

EXPLORE AMABERE GA NYINAMWIRU CAVES & KARAMBI TOMBS

Have morning breakfast and drive south west of Fort portal town on Bundibujyo road to explore the stunning stalactites and stalagmites with the milky substances usually referred to as the “Amabeere caves”. This is a nice excursion walk through the mythological caves. Your guide will take you down a thick jungle path – boots are a good idea since the path can be quite slippery and wet.  This short and interesting walk in the jungle leads you to a place where you are greeted by a lovely waterfall that tumbles down from the cliff above the caves. While there, listen to the interesting ancient folklores from your guide, here you may choose to stand behind the waterfall which is a worthy experience and a great moment for memorable pictures or swim in the waters though it’s icy cold and may end up surrounded by colobus monkeys.

From there proceed to the Karambi royal tombs, here you can find tombs to the past kings like David kyebambe commonly known as Kasagama and the George Kamurasi Rukidi ll. The royal tombs also harbor the royal tools like the respective royal regalia, drums, spears and other personal tools that were associated by each one of the respective kings during their rule. Return to fort portal town for late lunch and drive to your hotel. Have the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at

Day 3

BOTANICAL GARDENS AND TOORO PALACE

After morning breakfast, make a peaceful excursion to the Botanical gardens, these were established to help conserve trees and other plant life that were facing extinction in Western Uganda. While there, enjoy the evening tour with the guide as well as strolling around the gardens with their abundance of flowers, medicinal plants. It is also a haven for birds watching which can be enjoyed from the tree houses there. Bird species include the Scaly Francolin, Ludher’s Bush-shrike and Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Sunbirds, Waxbills and Flycatchers as well as Hamerkop and Woodland Kingfishers. Also keep an eye out for the many reptiles that have found a home there and for other wildlife in the ponds.

From there, embark on a drive to the Tooro palace, While at the palace we shall be able to know more about the ancient folklores of the kingdom, the way of life of the Batooro as well as having a magnificent view of Fort portal town. Have lunch and transfer back to Kampala.
